Metal Church is an American heavy metal band formed by Kurdt Vanderhoof; their self-titled debut was released in 1984. The band mixes elements of heavy, thrash and power metal and has undergone lineup changes and multiple reunions.

Founder Kurdt Vanderhoof is credited as the band's leader. David Wayne was the original vocalist; his death in 2005 is noted in the reviews. Guitarist John Marshall has served as a live substitute with Metallica (reported in reviews).
