LA RECENSIONE

Masami Akita, known to a few friends (one assumes) as Merzbow, must lead a very intense life. He eats, sleeps, combs his long, straight hair, and makes noise (it's not certain that he makes noise while combing, but it's entirely possible).
He's been traveling for years at an average of one album a month. As a South Tyrolean shepherd might say: sticazzi.

Like poles repel, opposite poles attract. Like chickens attract each other (fans of the same team of the same crappy soccer), opposite chickens repel each other (fans of two teams from the same city). Like fools attract each other, opposite fools do too. And so the good (foolish) John Zorn couldn't resist the temptation to re-release one of his albums (for his label Tzadik), years after the first time.

Three appetizers of classic noise from the historical master of Japanese noise, et voilà, a half-hour smash-everything main course, male and female eardrums and large eardrums (only male, of course).

Recommended: to an idler who wants to make parents and housemates believe he has a mechanical workshop at home (Merzbow's albums usually feature a welder as first violin, a flamethrower as second violin, and a jackhammer as third).
Not recommended: to any housemates, including mine (if the eldest daughter pushes her Pausini CD beyond the third track in a row, legitimate defense comes into play, as my lawyer confirmed to me).
