I can't help it, I just have to keep listening to the sweet notes of this album over and over again. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I started listening to it during a moment of relaxation, not even finishing it completely. However, I couldn’t stop myself from going back because the notes of "Postcard From A Dark Star" (the first song on the album) had captivated me.

From there, I was led to the notes veiled in sadness and melancholy of "Dangerous Heady Love Scheme" ("Love is not true when it’s infatuation - The bond is not there in fascination"), songs where love always takes center stage and the unreachable pursuit of happiness becomes ever more out of reach ("There’s a light that shines - It’s always distant - It goes on and off and on and off" - My Name Is Sad And At Sea), and so one must collect themselves to make sense of everything or despair ("In my warm cigarette room - Every time I go to sleep I weep weep weep weep - Every time I start to cry why why why why" - Warm Cigarette Room).
Merz actually goes by the name of Conrad Lambert from Bristol (at least he should be living there), a curious character with friends in at least 48 countries, relatives in Mongolia, and a great traveler (so it is told on the official website).
The sounds are electronic melodies that inevitably capture the listener, and the piano lines add that touch of sweetness without ever being cloying, leaving ample space for Lambert's voice to enchant us with his breathless sentimental quests.
