The MENISCUS?...who?

Strange name, quite improbable.

MENISCUS...from where?

Sydney to be precise... Australia, an equally improbable land, so improbable that it gave birth to a man who, at 53 years old, continues to wear a 'schoolboy' uniform and skip around the world.

MENISCUS...what does Google say? Even the Mountain View Oracle struggles to find them, all because of their anatomical synonymy. Pages and pages of medical documentation emerge about a high example of biomechanical excellence.

But you are not remotely interested in these nerdy trifles, you just want to know, who the heck are these MENISCUS?

I'll get straight to the point: Instrumental Music, part post-rock, part post-metal; the reference points are quite clear: Russian Circles, Maybeshewill, Gifs From Enola.

Someone else might add other nodes such as Jakob and What Blood Revealed, but allow me to strongly disagree. If you want a soft and pleasant journey, the two mentioned above are just fine, with the Australians, however, things get heavy.

Their music is homogeneous but never repetitive, consistent in the alternating balance of distinct but very fluid parts, there is no emptiness, no boredom, but a continuous, relentless flow of dreamlike moments paroxysmally interrupted by harsh guitars that leave indelible scars, aided by rhythms that spare no escape. A flow that, even when it wants to deceive you with its almost hypnotic gait, very soon reveals its truly devastating nature, dragging everything away without any hindrance.

In some brief moments, a voice echoes, seeming almost to stop one step further ahead, a harbinger of possible, future, non-paroxysmally instrumental evolutions.

No beating around the bush MENISCUS! Fantastic band. The only downside: they have only one EP to their name, and I've already overused it.

The bass player is easy on the eyes, and they even have a passion for insects, what cool guys these MENISCUS...
