Boston-based metal band formed at the end of the 1980s by guitarist/composer Anthony Nichols. Early lineup on the reviewed debut included Mike Munro (vocals), Jim Koury (guitar), Jessie Johnson (bass) and Stuart Dowie (drums). The band mixes thrash rhythms with melodic influences drawn from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

Debut album Kill to Survive had its title track removed by the record company (later included on the Live Kill EP). The band released Solitary Solitude and, after a period of difficulty and lineup changes, issued Unfinished Business (released in 2002) and the 2009 album Masquerade, which saw the return of vocalist Mike Munro.

A Boston-based metal band formed in the late 1980s, Meliah Rage blends thrash rhythms with NWOBHM-style melody. Their debut Kill to Survive is praised for power and concise songwriting. The band struggled for wider attention but produced notable later releases including Unfinished Business and Masquerade.

For:Fans of 1980s/1990s thrash and US power metal, listeners who like NWOBHM-influenced melody with aggressive riffing, collectors and rediscovery seekers.

Meliah Rage belongs to this category of bands that, for one reason or another, did not manage to gain the attention of the wider public, despite possessing good skills and offering a style that, during those years, was receiving favorable feedback.
