THE REVIEW

"Peace is for sale, but who's buying it?"

We are facing one of the masterpieces of Megadeth, the legendary Californian band led by the great Dave Mustaine, who left Metallica to form this great group. The album is pure and raw thrash metal, made with passion and sweat, created with heart and soul, the true metal of the good old days. To be fully absorbed, this album must be listened to more than once, but then it quenches all the thirst and need for strong emotions that it can fully convey.

The line-up consists of the already mentioned (perhaps) greatest rhythm guitarist of all time, Dave Mustaine, the excellent Chris Poland who alternates with the red-haired one on the six strings, the faithful David Ellefson on bass, and Gar Samuelson on drums. The album contains some of the group's most famous songs, including the colossal "Peace Sells", a legendary masterpiece that, among other things, is also the slowest track on the album but also the most captivating. In every track, the perfect blend of the instruments is astonishing; the violent and rhythmic riffs, the thunderous and dark bass lines, the double pedals, and the hammering on the drums and the feverish solos integrate perfectly with each other and penetrate deep into your heart, provoking chills and priceless emotions. All of this is accompanied by the demonic voice of Dave Mustaine, which seems to come directly from the depths of hell. All the tracks are wonderful.

Among the best tracks besides "Peace Sells", there are "Wake Up Dead", "The Conjuring", and "Devil Island", in addition to the beautiful cover of a Willie Dixon song from the 60s "I Ain't Superstitious". A masterpiece inferior only slightly to "Rust in Peace", "Peace Sells... " must be present in every true metalhead's collection. The album is now also available in a remastered budget edition that costs about 10 euros.

P.S. I ask all the metalhead friends (especially the great Cliff86) to tell me where I went wrong, but this is my first review. Thanks! Long live true and great Metal!

"Peace Sells... But Who’s Buying? is still today a brilliant example of the talent and execution skill of this exceptional quartet."

"The majestic progression of the title track, characterized by an initial bass riff that has rightfully entered the history of heavy metal."

By FedeHetfield

An album so raw and devoid of composition that it completely erases the word originality.

Dave brilliantly showcases his guitar skills alongside his former accompanist Chris Poland, but what’s absurd is his voice, lacking in melody and any quality.

By JenaPlissken

The album holds great significance for the band as it consolidates and matures the style already initiated with the debut.

'Peace Sells' is a fundamental composition and perhaps the most successful of the album, blending irony and paranoia.

Megadeth crafted what is perhaps their absolute masterpiece.

Gar Samuelson played like a Billy Cobham in a state of grace but, above all, played like himself.
