The Tagofest was probably the most interesting music event I attended this year.

 Why?

  1. The quality of the musical offerings, just think that even though the artists were unknown, they possessed great technique and stage presence.

  2. Opportunities for alternative labels to showcase their stalls and gain exposure.

  3. And then embracing culture in all its forms...............

In this intriguing setting, the most interesting group for me were the "A Spirale" from Naples, a free-core-noise jazz band.

During their 20 minutes, the most incredible things I witnessed were the screeching and agonizing saxophone, reminiscent of the best no-wave contortion..... Then moving to the daring drums which were at the same time incredibly complex. Experiencing these sounds in Italy was unique, a truly exceptional free-jazz. In this entire sound scheme, the most astonishing aspect was definitely the sound exploration, because the typical no-wave noise made way for mysticism and the pursuit of contortion, the complete rejection of melody.......

Unordered noise, absolutely unmanageable in some passages and simultaneously structured and mastered in others..... Definitely something to watch.

Alongside this from Naples, the "Squartet" and the whole Roman scene held their ground well..... Offering an impressive free-jazz.........

Compared to Milan, whose most important representative was Bruno Dorella (former drummer of "Wolfango").

That's it, a great event that must be seen
