THE REVIEW

In the U.S. Hardcore scene, MDC is one of the most ruthless and anarchic bands ever, their most important tracks are indeed messages against the police, the powerful, and a demented society.

Even though their songs present themselves to the public as a kind of satire, their message is strong and clear, no one escapes their criticism, MDC has always been relentless, this album is strong evidence of that. "Smoke signals" starts with their anti-police motto: "No More cops", followed by other caustic tracks played with confusion and rage very quickly.

Their name MDC is a kind of chameleon that changes its meaning from one work to another, what it seems to signify in this album is "Missile Destroyed Civilization", the ninth song which doesn't require much explanation (the title already tells us enough). That's not all, this album contains other classics of the band, like "Tofutti", a demented revisitation of the song "Tutti-frutti", followed by "South Africa Is Free", "Cauntry Squawk" one of their most famous tracks, or "Skateboards from hell", a hit more appreciated by the metal audience. Moreover, this work includes two tracks added from a previous single: "Bombs not Food" and the aggressive "Nazis Shouldn't drive" (I add "the car").

I believe that the sound of MDC doesn't need much explanation since we are talking about one of the greatest Hardcore bands in history, this album furthermore has been rated by many fanzines as the best record of the genre released in 1986.

So if you have a certain passion for venomous guitars played without much finesse and uncompromising themes, run to get this album.
