THE REVIEW

The McLusky are a way of life, their songs stick to your shirt, and it’s not easy to find the courage to wash it, even after being excited for hours under the spasmodic effect produced by the sound of the Welsh trio; theirs is a post-punk with a not negligible basic melody, creating adolescent rhythms but in a cultured context.

The atmospheres are those that the Fugazi have always proposed; we are faced with 3 songs where Falkous' spaced-out but controlled voice often grants yelps and vehemence, a rusty bass sets a compelling pace, the guitar unabashedly harmonizes everything, and the drums push you onto the dance floor until the inevitable climax of the generational anthem at the end in "The Salt Water Solution":

"What's wrong with getting what you want?"

Summary by Bot

McLusky's 'Undress for Success' delivers a raw post-punk experience full of intense energy and catchy melodies. The Welsh trio combines melodic rhythms with a cultured sound, propelled by Falkous' dynamic vocals and compelling instrumentation. Comparable to Fugazi's style, the album builds up to an anthemic finale in 'The Salt Water Solution'. It's an engaging listen that leaves a lasting impact.
