THE REVIEW

It was a dark and stormy night, and there was nothing interesting on TV. I had to choose between this movie, based on a series I had already heard about, or an action with John Travolta (incidentally, a bad action). Damn, it also has a good cast! (Bill Murray, Cameron Diaz, the one who started doing drugs after E.T...), and it's a comedy. Well, if I have to watch crap, it might as well be crap that makes me laugh.

Plot: our heroines (after a very tacky and trashy introduction) must save their charismatic boss (so charismatic that you only hear his voice and no one has ever seen his face, except maybe his mother) from a very... eccentric villain and his henchmen. In short, it doesn't shine for originality, but now I'll explain why, if you find yourself in my situation, you should ditch the crappy action movie with John Travolta and watch crap like this. It might seem difficult to choose between crap and crap, but if you choose this crap, you won't regret it.

You might be wondering 'But why ever, I like John Travolta, after all, it can't be that funny if it's crap'. That's exactly the point: it isn't funny, but it is funny

there will be in total two funny lines, but the whole thing is so ridiculous, so trashy, that it will either make you look away awkwardly, or it will make you burst into laughter while you ask yourself 'what am I watching?

So, I actually tell you: if you have to choose between a serious piece of crap with an embarrassing script and a pathetic plot, and a funny piece of crap with an embarrassing script and a pathetic plot (intentional repetition), choose the latter: at least you'll laugh awkwardly.

Or turn off the TV and pick up that old dusty board game staring at you from the nightstand, but that's another story.

Summary by Bot

The reviewer reflects on choosing between two poorly made movies and prefers McG's Charlie's Angels for its ridiculous and awkwardly funny moments. Despite a tacky plot and weak script, the comedy's trashy nature makes it more entertaining than a dull action movie. The film is described as unlikely to be genuinely funny but charming in its absurdity. Viewers might either laugh awkwardly or be baffled by it.
