I Was Here For A Moment, Then I Was Gone

It is said that Post Rock is a dying genre, that it has nothing more to offer, that it is a genre hardly influenced by more "mainstream" environments (which is a good thing in some cases), but are we really scraping the bottom of the barrel, or is there still something to say?

There are those who are still trying in 2011. Maybeshewill mix Post Rock with some simple elements of electronic music, constantly experimenting with new rhythmic solutions even with "unusual" instruments. A large space is given to thunderous guitar riffs whose edges are often smoothed by more delicate and subdued keyboards, the foundations for all of this are laid by solid drum bases or even drum machines in some passages, or by simple electronic rhythms combined with keyboards and bass lines.

The idea of combining elements of electronic music with Post-Rock is not entirely new, yet we still perceive a strong personality in the CD. The only slight downside is that the album is entirely instrumental, and the absence of vocals is felt in some more rarefied passages. This does not mean that they lack charm, though, because the album manages to create completely unique atmospheres and the lack of vocals is therefore just a subjective factor that can be appreciated or not, contributing to make the atmosphere more tangible or rarefied, depending on how it is interpreted.
