❝ Pollini, perhaps at the height of his powers, accomplishes a truly remarkable feat.
❝ By now you should have procured the CD with the concerto for piano and orchestra in G major, K. 453, No. 17 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, wonderful the recording with Pollini on piano and conducting, and the Wiener Philarmoniker (the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra).
❝ Pollini was there, he was present, but where was Schumann? Where was Chopin?
❝ So why such a long encore? Why not also perform an orchestral one then?
❝ The performance I most recommend for getting to know these pieces is that of Maurizio Pollini, recorded in 2005 for Deutsche Grammophon, unfortunately missing the 2 posthumous nocturnes.
