THE REVIEW

The first electronic love is never forgotten (at least it was for me, and that's coming from a guy from the new generation, soundtrack since the first year of middle school, such great memories). Considered by many fans (and I absolutely agree) as the absolute masterpiece of Massive Attack. Dark, gloomy atmospheres. "Angel," a first track that’s incredibly impressive, with the perfect voice of "Horance Handy," starts very somber and then slightly increases in volume, a perfect bass for the track, simply fantastic. "Risingson," my first love for the band because of a specific part, the bass part is very beautiful, fitting perfectly for the track. "Teardrop," it took me a long time to appreciate it because it seemed like the usual "commercial hit," but since it’s been years now that I've been listening to Massive Attack and therefore years have passed since I appreciated "Teardrop," I can say it’s fantastic, the right voice to give the right atmosphere to the song. "Inertia Creeps" among my first loves for the band, simply beautiful, percussion with perfect rhythms, in short, it has a perfect sound, quite a somber voice. I could tell you about other masterpieces from this album (they're practically all the tracks), but I would like to spend two words regarding the Title track "Mezzanine." I believe it’s one of the darkest songs ever, never increases in volume, always stays there, in the utmost darkness, and I don't hear much talk about it, which is a shame because it deserves a lot, it’s the perfect Title Track for this album. Perfect album, absolutely among the best in Electronic music, let’s remember they were the founders of "Trip Hop." Simply a perfect album, made by masters of Electronic music.

"Elisabeth Fraser, who brings brilliance to this album, one of the queens of '80s Dream-Pop."

"It’s to be listened to (after having hit repeat) from beginning to end, in the dim light, before slipping into sleep."

These sounds were absorbed, slowly but inexorably, becoming part of the deepest fibers of the soul.

Every single song on the album is a little gem to discover.

Close your eyes. Imagine running your finger over the globe... It is a voice that speaks, an ancient voice that belongs to the whole world.

A mix of New York hip hop, ambient, electronic music, dub, reggae, psychedelic music, jazz, funk, and soul... a mesmerizing and powerful journey.
