What a terrible movie that stole an hour and a half of my LIFE last night.

ASPIRANTE VEDOVO (The Wannabe Widow) by Massimo Venier (who is probably related to the more famous TV figure, Mara) starring Fabio De Luigi and Luciana Littizzetto. This trio tackles the remake of "Il Vedovo" by Dino Risi, a film of entirely different caliber and depth. A weak film, overacted, at times in an extremely forced manner and therefore not credible, as if it were a behind-the-scenes episode of Colorado Café on Italia 1.

The comparison with Risi's film doesn’t hold: this poor excuse of a film is disjointed, predictable in many parts, filled with caricatures and stereotypes that neither amuse nor provoke thought, leaving us indifferent, so much so that if you need to go to the bathroom, you can do so without pausing the DVD and resume watching it afterward without missing a thing.

Rambling dialogues, half-baked jokes, script holes, and forced elements bordering on surrealism. The saddest part is that IT'S NOT FUNNY. There's no rhythm, no direction, and no plausible plot twists. All things present in Risi's film where Sordi's and Valeri's performances were at least three levels higher.

It's not funny, no... not even a chuckle, a smirk, a half-grimace... no. Not even 30 seconds in an hour and a half! And that’s the most unforgivable thing in a comedy!
