THE REVIEW

Can you imagine a brawl between some incredibly pissed-off Discharge and some extremely high Eyehategod? If the answer is yes, then you are worthy of listening to this concentrated dose of rage that I have reviewed.

Masakari is a band hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, and they propose a Raw and primitive Crust Punk covered by a heavy layer of Sludge. Guitars distorted to the extreme, frantic drumming, and a voice shouting against all the injustices of this society are the main weapons of this group of madmen. Slow rhythms and frenetic Hardcore attacks follow each other chaotically. There is no room for melody.

The sentiment that pervades this record is one of total defeat against a society too blind and superficial to change. The apocalyptic and devastating scenarios typical of the never-too-praised Discharge set the scene for the tragedy of modern man, the acidic despair of Eyehategod the sentiment that keeps him in chains.

In conclusion, we are faced with a little gem of rage. This record will probably not change your lives nor make you better people nor solve your problems, but it is undoubtedly a great punch in the teeth.

Though it won't change your life, it's a powerful sonic punch.
