Powerful hip-hop made in Italy single by Marracash & Don Joe, straight from the legendary Milanese crew, Club Dogo!

What can I say? Well, I'd start by quoting the last line of the song, which is, "the street calls me I make a record for those who understand me and those who don't understand me, goodbye!"... so, after careful analysis, you'll understand that if you don't want to listen to Italian hip-hop, you should stay at least 100 meters away from this song!

Marracash's words (an MC originally from Barona) sharply and expertly describe what his eyes have seen in the place, where he, more than any other Italian rapper, has lived, namely, the street. Yes, that's exactly what Marracash raps about, the street in the true sense of the word; but not the street of the drink-happy Milan, rather, the street of prostitutes, drug dealing, and lynchings... the street where you make hip-hop out of necessity, not because you invent it that way or because you want to follow the American gangster trend like 50Cent (who more often than not seems a clown); for these reasons, the track is called "Popolare" because it is popular with his people.
Marra says he doesn't rap to change history, especially if it’s his own, but he raps to send a message about what those who at five go for drinks in the trendy districts of Milan do not see, he raps about the sons of prestigious Milanese lawyers or doctors who go to him to buy weed while their fathers boast about how respectable they are, he raps that school never taught him a damn thing and what he achieved he achieved by working hard, he raps about how he's disgusted by fake-ghetto MCs who rap about stories that don't belong to them.

The text is accompanied hand in hand by a base that is amazing, like most of Don Joe's...
the various synths know how to play their game by recreating a very electronic, very discopower sound, the beat is a classic but effective beat, the electric guitar riffs give a certain elegance to the whole work, much like the vocalists' voices in the 90s dance style in the chorus. Sure, it's not Don Joe's best base but it knows how to get noticed.

There are fun passages, like: "I pick up a kilo, treat it with moped oil and pass it off to the tenant downstairs (jerk)", "tight shirts, only the female traffic wardens whistle" or "when I went to school as a child, people in class called me Moroccan now I rob the classy people". So don't think of the usual U.S. style MC, that is champagne, jewelry, and limousines... even Mara says he still rides around on a moped!

It's not a foolish track like Fabri Fibra, it's not a serious track like Nesli, it's a Marracash track, period, powerful, refined, serious when needed, ruthless when needed but nevertheless true! Therefore, I look forward to more pleasant surprises from this MC who managed to make his way in life and music without many pretensions but just with a great desire to narrate with his rhymes!

p.s.
Those who listen to metal, rock, pop, jazz etc. etc. ... are requested to stay away from this rhymed jewel! To avoid unnecessary comments, I know you don't like it, okay? Thank you

No offense intended!
