With "Senza peso," Marlene confirms themselves as the best Italian band, even though the album has been somewhat criticized by die-hard fans for being too "soft" compared to others; similar to the previous "Che cosa vedi," which was criticized for the same reason (a supposed commercialization of their sound), in my opinion, equally unjustifiably.

If evolution is natural for all forms of life, it can well be so for MK as well, whose latest work cannot be considered inferior to the previous ones due to the lack of clanging sounds and piercing screams (which aren't entirely absent: see "Sacrosanta verità," "L'uscita di scena," "Ci siamo amati").
The only song that doesn't convince me is the single "A fior di pelle," really too "easy," but the other tracks are splendid.

Marlene continues on the path taken with the previous album: an intimate, lyrical, introspective music, just like the lyrics. Cristiano can now modulate his voice on sweeter tones, with great effect.
The sound of Marlene Kuntz is now well-defined: not big chords tracing the base melody, but intersections of bicords or light arpeggios. No indulgence in easy melodies; rather, some sought-after dissonance, which perhaps makes their music less accessible to many, but the Marlenes have never had a problem with that.

In fact, the fact that their music may prove difficult to digest not only for the masses but also for the "hardcore" fans shows that the path taken is the right one: the autonomous pursuit of their own sound with courage and awareness, regardless of listeners' expectations, whether faithful or novices.

The album is one of those that, once placed in the CD player, prevents you from listening to anything else and forces you to lose yourself in its atmospheres. If this isn't good music...

"Sometimes, when it’s dark and far from the rest of the world ('Notte'), it talks to you for hours and you feel you could be by its side forever."

"It also has colleagues who add a little spice to certain evenings, they are called Warren and Rob Ellis... they share the same artistic sensitivity."
