I recently discovered this group and instantly fell in love with it. It is exactly the type of music I enjoy: a sometimes senseless mix of strong emotions, suffocating rhetorical devices, slightly feminine voice, hidden perversion, and surreal lyrics... it's just like me.
I think the M.K. are capable of painting beautiful landscapes rich in details and nuances with their poetic lyrics and their whining foundation: listening to the single "Pretending Poetry", I contemplate a magical seaside landscape. The sea sung is the most beautiful, painted in a rainbow of oranges, some light, some dark, cradled by the warm summer wind... an impromptu show that should be shared with someone truly unique and special, just like the sunset that yawns one last time before falling asleep in the depths.
Every time I listen to this song, I reminisce a bit about the most exciting moments of my brief life, especially an unforgettable summer, for better or worse, when the legendary sea of Marlene lightened my heavy body, washing away every torment. Only the palms of my hands remained dry because they were perpetually glued to his, calloused and rough, yet sweet.
"I look into the sun that flees and takes me away, I look into the sun pretending poetry"... pretending to feel masters of everything, pretending to know all the truth, pretending to be able to resist sin, pretending to feel good, pretending to give their best effort, pretending to sincerely believe it will last, pretending a damned poetry.
"Please be quiet and turn your eyes over there... I prefer it that way and don't ask me what I'm thinking, it's useless..."
I feel nauseous. I return to immerse my black head in the silver sea, letting myself be cradled. It enchants and carries me far, not on the back of dolphins, but on the pointed tail of frightening sea creatures, they take me where I lose myself along with the hope of reliving the past.
That deceptive sea is you. I can no longer notice and I'm afraid of the water, who knows if this phobia will ever pass...
Absolutely worth listening to, but only if you are ridiculously nostalgic and desperately melancholic.

"Sometimes, when it’s dark and far from the rest of the world ('Notte'), it talks to you for hours and you feel you could be by its side forever."
"It also has colleagues who add a little spice to certain evenings, they are called Warren and Rob Ellis... they share the same artistic sensitivity."
