THE REVIEW

"What Do You See?": a title that prompts free interpretation... it's the fourth album by the rock band from Cuneo, following the successful debut of "Catartica" and the two excellent subsequent works "Ho ucciso paranoia" and "Il vile". Something certainly changes, yes... new instruments and new melodies, but it's the atmosphere that has something different about it.

First track "Cara è la fine": hard guitars & fiercely beaten drums, heartbreaking melody, death-love mix (Stringiti a me, ringhiagli addosso e poi sparami mentre io sparo a te.)
Second track "Serrande alzate": sweet rhythm, seductive godanic voice, tender poetry (La mia culla è meraviglia esplosa non ti dondola ma avvolge e ammanta.)
Third track "Canzone di oggi": good old punk, overflowing, effective, love-regret background (Avrei dovuto inviarti quel che c'è di bello e fragile in me per fartelo osservare con religiosità.)
Fourth track "L'abbraccio": polished whisper, wonderful lyrics (Io so che un sogno i testimoni non ce li ha, ma voglio essere ladro anche nella realtà.)
Fifth track "La canzone che scrivo per te" too commercial? Marlene is accused by her fans who boo the song during live performances, incorrectly I believe, catchy melody, successful duet with Skin, love dialogue (Non c'è contatto di mucosa con mucosa eppur mi infetto di te.)
Sixth track "Due sogni" nothing like this is created in Italy, very unusual atmosphere, sex and dream (Ieri ho fatto un sogno in cui sogni che io suono un coito per te.)
Seventh track "Chi mi credo d'essere?" gritty rock, screams, effectiveness (Una-centouno-centomila immagini di me sparpagliate fra di voi.)
Eighth track "Primo maggio" marlenesque effects, incisive and unusual, very respectable social theme (Ero dentro la mia realtà e la vita nei pressi era solamente un'entità.)
Ninth track "La mia promessa" very delicate, slow and fascinating, sweet promises... of love (Non chiedo per me la gioia eterna di risorgere, ma di esser cura perenne per te.)
Tenth track "Malinconica" fantastic ballad, subtle and velvety nostalgia (E magnificamente quel gesto ha preso il campo e tu mi hai rapito.)
Eleventh track "Quasi 2001" hard, impressive, marlenesque rhythm, usual non-triviality of the text (Corso Rimorso, Strada Coscienza, viuzze e vicoli bui....)
Twelfth track "E poi il buio" recited, poetry and emotion, still nostalgic memories (Nell'ombra a del monte mi pento di averti lasciata tornare e poi il buio, neanche un graffio di luna nel cielo.)
Thirteenth track "Grazie" sweetness again, everything very fragile... music and lyrics that offer pleasant sensations (Semplicemente grazie... Perdutamente grazie... Solennemente grazie.)
