Mark Farner (born October 29, 1948 in Flint, Michigan) is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist, best known as the founding member, lead singer and guitarist of Grand Funk Railroad; he has also released solo material.

Founding member and frontman of Grand Funk Railroad; pursued a solo career after the band's 1970s run. Some later solo releases include overt Christian themes (as noted in contemporary reviews).

A single DeBaser review (pier_paolo_farina) delivers a sharply negative take on Mark Farner's 1989 solo album Wake Up..., criticizing production, blunt electric guitars and overt Christian lyrics. The reviewer contrasts this record with Farner's energetic work in Grand Funk Railroad and rates the album poorly (2/5).

For:Fans of classic rock, Grand Funk Railroad followers, and listeners exploring Mark Farner's solo work

This work here is the fourth in Farner's solo career, it's dated 1989 and it's worth nothing, starting from the photographic rendition of the orange/globe immortalized (so to speak) on the cover, ugly on its own and poorly served by an unfortunate lighting setup.
