Voices, distant echoes of present and past that blend in tradition, "Meridies" in one of its countless facets is this. Here we talk about an infinite music, that transcends chiaroscuro and categorization; Marino De Rosas a name that most will not recognize, well that's better, we do not want to, cannot, must not worry about it, that's just fine, such a treasure is better kept tightly guarded.

"Meridies" is a journey and is recounted to us by what I consider to be the most personal and melodically tasteful contemporary classical guitarist, Marino de Rosas is a self-taught Sardinian guitarist, composer of original pieces with a classical guitar in open C tuning. A style all his own to narrate the magic of a land, Sardinia, through the eyes of one who has seen white rivers flow from the mountain to the sea in its Transhumance, shepherds-servants whose voices are lost in three thousand years of history, the joy and tears of shepherds far from the warmth of home for months; of one who has seen a queen on horseback during village festivals, see Queen Eleonora. Islands, amidst the sea and wild horse races and rifle salutes Candelora, children falling asleep to the sweet sound of a Lullaby, and again the sea transporting distant sounds Mediterranean, people drinking Cannonau in small taverns and Mamuthones jumping in the splendid Cannonau bring to life sounds and atmospheres that are absolutely original and sincere in their honesty. Marino tells us of golden skies under which the spirit of the Sardus Pater majestically stands, in particular represented by an original rendition of "Passo Torrau" reinterpreted with his wonderful guitar in the splendid "Chelo De Oro", to conclude the journey, the tales of tired fishermen at noon are told, and of a man who decided to recount his wonderful wanderings with a guitar while watching the sea.

The richness of the sounds and instruments all absolutely original and played divinely by exclusively Sardinian musicians, makes this "Meridies" a cornerstone of music understood as passion, emotion, and a vital stimulus of life, thank you Marino, thank you for gifting us this gem among your masterpieces.
