THE REVIEW

The synonym for this greatest hits Lest We Forget is grotesque because an album like this moves us from one territory to another, first violent and brutal, then sweet and sensual, then grotesque and dirty. Indeed, this is the sensation we have right after listening to this album. Aggressive and unsettling, as much as dirty and disgustingly sweet and romantic. And it is from these words that I draw the concept of this album, which hits us like a bullet to the forehead, like a nail on the tip of a dick. It's all so orgasmic and powerful. From the very first notes of the album, we should realize that we are venturing into another world. Practically, downing kilos of marijuana is like listening to this album. It sends you into ecstasy and keeps you awake. A good old recipe that has been around since 1994. It’s not something healthy but rather I’d say it’s poisonous. A poison that can hurt as much as it can heal. The conversation here is completely different from the one made about KMFDM. The voice of Marilyn Manson is practically nothing less than violence in person. It goes from unsettling and violent moments (The Love Song, mOBSCENE, This Is The New Shit), to those decidedly sweeter and more nauseating (Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, Tainted Love, The Dope Show), and finally to the more hallucinogenic and grotesque ones (Tourniquet, Lunchbox, and Sweet Dreams).

It remains true that "We Hate Love, We Love Hate". Marilyn Manson, in the end, is nothing more than the creature, more convinced and less suffering than Trent Reznor. Who always tries to please everyone. People wanted violence and Satan, and he served it to them on a silver platter. Therefore, Brian is nothing less than a crossbreed. A mixed race, who doesn't know who to follow, if the mother (depressed) or the father (violent). Thus, he goes crazy and creates his own personality (though heterogeneous...), which due to a life full of temptations and dangers, decides not to be the good boy anymore. I would close this review by saying that Marilyn Manson is simply a disease that cannot be cured, but can only be allied with to spread the seed of evil in the world. Like this "Lest We Forget", the fertilizer of evil.
