DEDICATED TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE NOT DEAD
The year is 2000 (one year after the Columbine massacre where the reverend was accused of inspiring the two boys responsible for the tragedy) the reverend closes the trilogy with 'Holywood', the latest discographic release preceded by 'Antichrist Superstar' and by 'Mechanical Animal'.
Brian Warner places it at the beginning of his journey followed by 'Mechanical' (a sort of purgatory) and ending with 'Antichrist' (the birth of the worm). The album is divided into four parts "in the shadow of the valley of death, the androgyne, of red earth, the fallen". The album features singles that, in a way, have characterized the fame and notoriety of the album and the artist: "Disposible teens", "The fight song", "the nobodies".
In the album, the reverend speaks mainly about the murder of John F Kennedy that took place in November 1963, comparing it to the crucifixion of Christ. There are also tracks that, in my opinion, make the CD one of his best creations, tracks such as "in the shadow...", "Coma Black", "Valentine's day", "count six and die" thus emphasizing the anger and the industrial-goth atmospheres that set it apart. Also, this is the last album where Jeordie White, the first real bassist of the band, is present.
I close by giving a piece of advice to all the people who are taking their first steps into the genre, buy, listen or borrow this album, do not judge by appearances or even worse by rumors because not only his music but also he as an artist has been underestimated as evidenced by all his beautiful covers and his great CDs.
So it's up to you to decide. (I hope you liked my first review)
Best Regards
