Margaret Mazzantini (born 27 October 1961 in Dublin) is an Italian novelist, screenwriter and actress. She is married to actor and director Sergio Castellitto.

Several of her novels have been adapted for film, with adaptations directed by Sergio Castellitto.

Two DeBaser reviews cover Mazzantini's short theatrical-like piece 'Zorro. Un eremita sul marciapiede' (66 pages) and the novel 'Non ti muovere', a long interior monologue of a surgeon. Reviews emphasize themes of abandonment, memory, love and emotional violence. Both reviews rated the works 3/5.

For:Readers of contemporary Italian fiction and theatre; those who enjoy emotionally intense narratives.

Zorro is actually not the name of the homeless man, but rather the dog left orphaned by its owner and for this reason temporarily adopted.
