I leave Bergen at two yesterday afternoon to then manage to reach Modena in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, it no longer snows in Modena and perhaps the snowshoes will prove to be a decidedly unnecessary burden. I arrive in the capital at seven twenty where I meet my friends, of whom I don't care much because they are not Vikings except, of course, the good Bassist who delights me with precious folk melodies.

So we head to Bologna, confident and anxious to attend what promises to be one of the best concerts of my life, Marduk at the Estragon. I certainly have some doubts about the performance of the new drummer Emil Dragutinovic and the new singer Mortuus (the two "u"s are an innovation of unprecedented originality), but I'm sure they will dispel them as quickly as possible. Upon arriving in Bologna, we immediately start looking for a place to eat. We find an open trattoria not far from the Estragon and enter; unfortunately, it is the same trattoria where Verdena decided to eat (who cares) and all the tables seem to be occupied. At this point, the Bassist and I certainly don't want to bow to these injustices, so we enter, dragging behind us numerous attendants who cling to our legs, and we present ourselves at Verdena's table, ordering them to leave the premises as soon as possible. Odin is with us and it shows. We instill terror in these poor, pale, and malnourished-looking guys who immediately abandon their table, stuffing us with t-shirts and various nonsense, apologizing multiple times for the disturbance. After a lavish dinner, we head back to the Estragon. It seems there are two bands before Marduk, the first is absolutely negligible while the second seems to be Verdena (they have now become a persecution). I mainly focus on the latter.

Excellent technical skills, performance of the pieces very faithful (even too much) to the CD versions and very good sounds except for the fact that at times they tend to overdo it a bit with the distortions and various effects and the guitar chaos becomes irritating. Moreover, for a good part of the concert, I was standing next to the speakers, so I could feel the kick drum (excellent drummer) and the bass (hot bassist) beating excellently, really a delight. However, the wait begins to become nerve-wracking, and from behind the stage, Marduk begins to peek out. I catch sight of Morgan and the new drummer acquisition, promising myself to have my angel tattoo autographed (ghgh :°°°D) with a cutter at the end of the concert.
Thus pass, in eager anticipation of Marduk, the best songs of Verdena's career: Valvonauta, Viba, Dentro Sharon, leading to the last ones Phantastica, Luna, etc., etc., etc.

But who cares, the Bassist and I are here for the Marduk and we enjoy the sight of a seemingly drunk Sallu climbing onto the stage and hitting on the bassist, only to be thrown back into the crowd with a belly bounce from Morgan of Marduk (his punch is deadly). Verdena even find time to thank "the two Vikings from the restaurant who spared our lives, without their magnanimity, we wouldn't have been able to be here tonight." What can I say? Thanks, and now get out of the way. Said and done. The crowd begins to murmur and impatiently shout "Marduk Marduk" when, after the necessary time for instrument changes, the four Swedes take the stage and what I've been waiting for for about two hours begins. The attack is deadly with Panzer Division Marduk accompanied by a propitious "***** *io Estragon". Excellent technical skills, performance of the pieces very faithful (even too much) to the CD versions and very good sounds except for the fact that at times they tend to overdo it a bit with the distortions and various effects, and the guitar chaos becomes irritating (editor's note: you really know how to copy and paste?). Moreover, for a good part of the concert, I was standing next to the speakers, so I could feel the kick drum and snare (excellent drummer) and the bass (chunky bassist) beating excellently, really a delight. Really remarkable, those Swedes. Finished the
