Released in 2004, preceded by the winning song of the Sanremo Festival: "L'Uomo volante", the CD by Marco Masini titled "Masini".
The album begins with the song just mentioned: "L'Uomo volante", a song dedicated to his hypothetical son and also the one that revived the Tuscan singer-songwriter from the oblivion he had fallen into (like Mia Martini, to whom he dedicates his success at the Italian Song Festival) where everyone accused him of bringing bad luck and thus repeatedly excluded him from every stage. The fact that Masini managed to lift his head again demonstrates the strength of character of the person, which is manifested in all the tracks of the album. The second track is "E Ti amo", an excellent piece with beautiful musicality and great grit. The following song is "Generation", a song that lacks musicality but possesses a great text. The fourth track is "Io non ti sposerò", a very melodic track that melts 40-year-old lovers, and the fifth is "Benvenuta". Now, the album begins to offer the new versions of the old successes of the Tuscan singer such as "Disperato" and "Le ragazze serie" which in the first half of the '90s had great success throughout Italy. After them, it's time for the beautiful "Cenerentola innamorata", "Ti vorrei" which features a significant text, and one of his best pieces: "T'innamorerai", a beautiful song that stays in the minds of all Marco's admirers. This CD concludes with four more songs from the early albums that made Masini famous: "Caro Babbo", "Dal Buio", "Dentro di te e fuori dal mondo", and "Ci vorrebbe il mare".
The album contains many good pieces, it's a shame they are the new versions of his old songs; apart from "L'uomo volante", the more recent pieces are not on the level of the old ones.
