Marcel Carné (1906–1996) was a French film director closely associated with poetic realism and a frequent collaborator of screenwriter Jacques Prévert.

Born 18 August 1906, died 31 October 1996. Directed Les Enfants du paradis (1945), a landmark of French cinema; collaborated with Jacques Prévert.
