THE REVIEW

Who said that Skajazz is the "prerogative" of New Yorkers? Even from Salento, the melodic part of jazz has fused with the harmonic and rhythmic content of Jamaican music. The mastermind is Emanuele Dell’Atti "Many Loves Ska-Jazz", who has executed a surprising and meticulous musical operation, worthy of the best authors, managing to bring into the recording studio (Sudest studio by Stefano Manca) some of the most talented and esteemed musicians from Terra d’Otranto: Marco Calabrese (Piano, Hammond), Gaetano Carrozzo (trombone), Emanuele Coluccia (saxophone), Vincenzo Grasso (clarinet), Marco Tuma (harmonica) to name a few; all coming from various musical experiences but all with one goal: to leave a mark in skajazz. Listening to the 8 tracks, you will be convinced that they succeeded brilliantly. I do not like to highlight particular tracks, but a mention goes to track 5 "Slow Steps," which recalls Fellinian themes. The video for the track "Fuzzy Waves" is fun and festive, shot at the border between Marche and the Romagna Riviera. Worthy of attention is the choice of the record label (Cinedelic Records of Cattolica) in releasing the album also on vinyl, highly recommended for collectors and not only.

I almost forgot... the album title is "Dreamlike." Bon voyage.
