"Visto così" was released in the summer of 1999 and is the first and only official greatest hits album by Mango. The title is descriptive: Mango wishes to be ''Seen this way'' in a fascinating journey that retraces the highlights of his musical history. An eclectic journey through old and new appearances that deliver a Mango capable of transforming even his past. Memories sweetened by new emotions for an album that goes far beyond the features of a common ''Best of''. There are two new tracks: the very famous Amore per te and Non dormire più, the latter characterized by the hypnotic atmosphere of violins. Both singles speak of love and passion. They were composed by Mango together with his brother Armando and Pasquale Panella. Among the songs presented with new arrangements is Oro, a cult song from 1984 about a woman willing to sell herself for sex. Lei verrà, presented at the Sanremo Festival in 1986, has completely changed its outfit and has become a thousand times more beautiful. The same goes for La rosa dell’inverno, which we find in a decidedly melodic arrangement devoid of the experimental electronics that characterize the Odissea album. But back to the 1986 Festival, there is another song titled Io nascerò, written for Loretta Goggi and the theme of the Ligurian event. In Visto così, Mango presents his own version, decidedly more rock. Completely transformed is Come l'acqua. Le Faraualla (a female quartet from Puglia performing a repertoire of a cappella vocal polyphonies) perform the vocal interlude from Ederlezi by Goran Bregovic. ‘’Sa o Roma, babo babo, Sa o Roma daje. Sa o Roma Daje’’ The evergreen Bella d’ estate, Nella mia città, the very famous and picturesque Mediterraneo, the enigmatic Come Monnalisa, Sirtaki, Australia, Giulietta, Dove vai and the poignant Primavera maintain their original outfits. A must-have album.
