LA RECENSIONE

The album "Odissea" is an explosive mix of keyboards and experimental electronics. We are in 1986. The lyrics are by Alberto Salerno except in Love is just a melody and Modern love in collaboration with Simon Marsh.

The Odissea represents the search for someone to love that gives meaning to life. "‘’I don't know who you are or how many names you will have but shout if you can, so I will follow you wherever you want’’". This strong desire even leads us to travel into space. "‘’From which space will you come, I will never know’’’.

The same concept continues with Lei verrà where the imagination of meeting a woman who never arrives takes over. "'Stay here tonight, it's raining and raining on us who never meet’’''. Lei verrà is one of Mango's most famous songs. Presented at the Sanremo Festival in 1986, it is the first great recording success of the Lucanian singer-songwriter. The album also includes an instrumental version.

This long and tiring Odissea seems to be at a turning point which, however, is far from the dream of Lei verrà. "‘’You don't have a lot of light inside, and I don't know what you're looking for from me, yet in you something gives me... Give me your Show take and give burn hotter than ever’’''.

But sometimes you also need to know how to take risks if it makes us happy and go In every direction you want."‘’Maybe it's light, who knows? Maybe it's a blade that will cut, but I will find out what you are like; perhaps it is also madness that gives a sense of euphoria. But I will not go back’’''.

This album features La rosa dell’inverno, another classic by Mango. A song that captures the senses when falling in love: the thorn and the poetry, the pain and the happiness. "‘’Thorn and poetry clear melancholy don't leave me anymore the rose of winter you are now I know what you are for me’’''.

The tracklist closes with I movimenti di un’idea. "‘’Ancient giant missiles inside the museums all still like distant trophies... But the movements of an idea you never stop even if you want to... Every eternity you will find them again’’''.

Finally worth mentioning, with the advent of the compact disc, the singles from the 45 rpm Oro/Lungo bacio lungo abbraccio were added.
