Time of Change. And praise to this grand time. With this second album, Maler confirms himself as one of the most promising songwriters on the Italian scene. Metallic and sing-song voice, sophisticated and whimsical lyrics, melodies with a Middle-Eastern flavor. Compared to the previous work Dell'Ora e del Mai, it seems like a more mature album, especially regarding the quest for an even more personal sound environment. The result is a beautiful mix of samples and keyboards that challenge strings and accordions, in a continuous intertwining.

A very entertaining and citation-rich album that finds its ultimate purpose thanks to some tracks that seem more like photographs than songs.

"You who have horse eyes
you who have stork legs...
...satisfy my desire
for a cup of kaimak"

If you wanted to find a flaw, you could say that it lacks a stroke of genius. A double-step, a la Ronaldinho, that allows you to create the memorable song, the one you don't expect. But in the Italian musical panorama expecting miracles is almost impossible, so let Maler's freshness be welcome and his stories that still make you dream with open eyes. The Great Plain, which we find in the album's acknowledgments, and which I imagine to be the Emilian-Po Valley one, is full of little roads, streams, and ditches. Who knows, maybe in the future, Maler will surprise us with another change of course.

"Echoes of shells
Like oceans of cicadas
now that I have no name
whoever calls me will drown"
