ALCOHOLIC BAD MANNERS - Black Sails
(Maninalto! Records)
Maleducazione Alcolica, a ska punk band now fully established in the Italian scene, brings to life âBlack Sails,â their third studio album, complete and captivating.
Unique new songs and four guest artists come together to create a fresh, light, and absolutely not trivial album.
The album opens with the instrumental intro âOpen Fire,â extremely atmospheric, immediately immersing the listener in the right mood. It continues with âOf Love and Troubles,â which opens the dance in full ska punk style, with frenetic guitars, energetic rhythms, and light brass.
âHitânârunâ maintains the opening pace, throwing, if possible, even more fuel on the fire, while âLotitaâ transports the listener to sweeter and more romantic seas.
âBlack Sailsâ is an instrumental where the brass takes center stage, dancing on a base that borders on jazz.
âNowâ brings us back to singing through very loaded and engaging, almost heavy, sounds.
âWhite Shoesâ is the first track in English and seems to want to abandon some ska notes to be completely swept away by punk, while âWrite it on the Wallsâ is the first track of the album with a collaboration; the unmistakable touch of Il Muro del Canto is immediately noticeable.
Soon after, âCuentameâ offers another collaboration with Sandokan, in a piece less carefree than the initial atmospheres of the album, while âStill Hereâ once again offers hope.
âJoin the Partyâ resumes the compositional style of White Shoes, followed by the equally frenetic âMother Earthâ (feat. Talco).
âLast Dawnâ is a brilliant interlude that calms the spirits so that one can better dive into âSink,â perhaps the most scorching track of the entire album.
