Lenny Bruce

Lenny Bruce (born Leonard Alfred Schneider) was an American stand-up comedian and social critic active from 1947 to 1966. Known for pushing the boundaries of language and taboo, he faced multiple obscenity prosecutions and became a symbol of free speech. His autobiography, How to Talk Dirty and Influence People, was serialized in Playboy. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and died in 1966 at age 40.
