Third ■ tazzoidecompose

The album is permeated by the sound of the organ played by Mike Ratledge, sometimes distorted and futuristic, sometimes solemn and intimate.

The group’s abstract digressions and the uniquely original sound make this album a fundamental work for the development of the progressive genre.

Dive into Soft Machine's Third and explore a groundbreaking fusion of jazz and psychedelic rock—listen to the remastered edition now!

Moon in June (19:08)
On a dilemma between what I need and what I just want
Between your thighs I feel a sensation
How long can I resist the temptation?

You and Third

Soft Machine

Soft Machine are an English band central to the Canterbury scene, formed in 1966 by Robert Wyatt, Mike Ratledge, Kevin Ayers and Daevid Allen. They fused psychedelia, avant‑garde ideas and jazz into progressive landmarks like Third (1970), then moved toward jazz‑fusion under Karl Jenkins, with notable guitar work by Allan Holdsworth on Bundles. The name was revived in 2015 by veterans from Soft Machine Legacy.
