Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American Southern rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in the mid-1960s. They rose to fame in the early 1970s with landmark recordings and became known for songs like "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama." The original lineup was decimated by a plane crash in October 1977; surviving members later reunited in 1987 and continue to perform in various incarnations.
