American composer, lyricist and record producer. He wrote and produced Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell, penned Bonnie Tyler hits like Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding Out for a Hero, and created stage works including Tanz der Vampire and Bat Out of Hell: The Musical. He died in 2021.
