Confusional Quartet

Confusional Quartet Mike76

The Confusional Quartet represents a notable exception to the rule because the music they proposed... was not at all subservient to Anglophone models.

The pinnacle of their 'art of the banal' is represented by the twisted cover-parody of the song 'Volare (Nel blu dipinto di blu)'.

Confusional Quartet

Italian instrumental new wave/experimental group from Bologna, formed in 1977. Known for the audacious cover of Volare and the self-titled LP, with a sound often described as a hybrid of Area and Devo. Part of the late-70s Bologna scene; admired by Devo. Original run ended in 1982; reunited in 2011.
