Killswitch Engage are an American metalcore band formed in 1999 in Massachusetts. Credited with helping define 2000s metalcore, they broke through with Alive or Just Breathing (2002) and reached wider audiences with The End of Heartache (2004) and As Daylight Dies (2006). Vocalists Jesse Leach and Howard Jones each fronted distinct, celebrated eras.
