The Pale Fountains - (There's Always) Something on My Mind A precious band with a short life that must be included in the Postcard Sound strand (Josef K, Orange Juice, and Aztec Camera). Only the sublime indie Sixties revival tune "Thank You" achieved a respectable chart position, while "Jean's Not Happening" (with that verse melody taken word-for-word from New Order's "Love Vigilantes"), "Useless" (...with those horns fifteen years before "Screamadelica" and the Madchester Sound...) and this debut single went almost unnoticed.
James - Sit Down Sublime and captivating with the EP "Village Fire", a sort of Postcard Sound reminiscent of Orange Juice, Josef K, and Aztec Camera, while a bit more boxed in the single format throughout the rest of their career (even though they also had their Madchester style period with various tracks like "Lose Control" and "Come Home"). This is definitely the perfect song of the second phase of James! An anthem of the 90s!
