His 3 studio albums are objectively very beautiful, I would say nearly on par with Deep Purple. However, it's a shame that live, musically it wasn't all that great, because it was indeed spectacular, but it's better to watch his concerts, due to all the tricks like playing with his teeth or behind his back, than to listen to them, because he relied on feedback, wah wah and other effects, instead of focusing on the notes to play. A bit overrated. Much better than Blackmore.
