Massimo Troisi

There are some artists who escape the simple dimension of definition... I’ll just say that he has been one of my idols since I was a child, and even now he remains one of my favorite artists. His subtle and hidden comedy was anything but obvious; perhaps that was precisely where his greatness lay... I don’t know, I’m too small to define it.

Massimo Troisi

Massimo Troisi (1953–1994) was an Italian actor, comedian, screenwriter, and film director from the Naples area. He emerged with the trio La Smorfia, then wrote, directed, and starred in films including Ricomincio da tre and Scusate il ritardo, and later starred in Il Postino.
