a link between the Beatles and Battisti, they have traversed without getting trapped in very different genres, from beat to prog-Italian, from seventies pop to the wave intuitions of the early '80s (Lettera da Berlino Est), even brushing against hard rock. They used electronics and Tubular Bells (La Gabbia) and even alluded to Brit-pop (Ascolta); they have told stories of love, life, tragedy, and rebirth from the only possible point of view: realism.
