Simply a truly great Heavy Metal band, in some ways the best ever. They have managed to evolve over the years while always remaining within the Heavy Metal realm. With Sad Wings of Destiny they helped create Heavy Metal, with Defenders of the Faith they produced one of the most iconic albums of the genre, and with Painkiller they laid the groundwork for the more aggressive and "modern" Heavy Metal of the '90s, but of course always in their own way.
