Ali Farka Touré

Ali Farka TourĂ© was a Malian guitarist and singer who fused Songhai traditions with blues, helping define the ‘desert blues’ sound. He collaborated with Ry Cooder on Talking Timbuktu and with Toumani DiabatĂ© on In the Heart of the Moon, earning multiple Grammy Awards. He remained rooted in Mali throughout his life and passed away in 2006.
