The Strokes

Musically, they rate somewhere between zero and one. Excessively exalted through pure marketing operations to exploit their look and image, turning them into the latest (freak show) phenomena. Some incompetent copycat magazines tout them as the best band of the 2000s and praise their first album, which is nothing more than a hodgepodge of references sprinkled with the usual three chords. Let's overlook the lyrics. Harmless in themselves, but pointless. Some songs work well as background for alcoholic parties for fifteen-year-olds.
