To be considered the worst director ever is, for me, blasphemy. He is a director who, in his best films, has demonstrated extraordinary visual talent and an ability to "construct" scenes that is exceptional. He also has some identifiable flaws such as linearity in screenplays (but then again, he is a director of horror and thrillers) and the management of actors (the performances often leave much to be desired). It is true that since the mid-eighties he hasn’t hit the mark with a film at his level, although "Non ho sonno" isn’t bad. He certainly has his place in the history of cinema.
