Jean-Luc Ponty

Jean‑Luc Ponty is a French jazz‑fusion violinist and composer, a key figure in bringing the electric violin to jazz-rock. He gained wide attention from the late 1960s, recorded King Kong: Jean‑Luc Ponty Plays the Music of Frank Zappa (1969), worked with John McLaughlin’s Mahavishnu Orchestra, and released classic fusion albums through the 1970s and 80s.
