Certainly great (an immense truth and a COMMON PLACE). A Rockstar who paradoxically, from my point of view, is not a Rocker (he used to be). From my perspective, Francesco De Gregori is more rock (this definition is also a common place).

Vasco Rossi

Vasco Rossi (born 1952) is an Italian singer-songwriter from Zocca, active since the late 1970s and widely known for pioneering a raw rock voice in Italian popular music and for massive stadium tours. He is commonly nicknamed "Blasco."
