In the '70s, a good artist, but nothing thrilling yet. Starting from "Le Città Di Frontiera" in 1983, his poetic vision began to establish itself more and more, culminating in the extraordinary "La Pianta Del Tè" in 1988, the pinnacle of his entire discography and the opening album of a series of wonderful works. It's also worth noting that he was, among his peers, the only one who understood when (and how) to step back. This is what it means to be a great artist.

Ivano Fossati

Ivano Fossati is an Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Genoa, frequently described in these reviews as cultured, refined, and restlessly experimental. Reviewers trace a path from early prog/rock roots (including Delirium) through a piano-centered period and into later albums marked by “wise simplicity,” with recurring attention to travel/sea imagery, sophisticated arrangements, and high-level lyric writing.
