Howard Phillips Lovecraft

The so-called "Cthulhu Cycle" has generally always made me yawn. I greatly appreciate his earlier works, specifically those inspired by Poe (The Alchemist, The Tomb) and those that are dreamlike (the Randolph Carter cycle).

Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author best known for pioneering modern cosmic horror and for stories associated with the Cthulhu Mythos, alongside a substantial body of dreamlike fantasy set in the Dreamlands.
